Estación Benaoján – Jimera de Líbar (Serranía de Ronda)
The visit will begin with a breakfast in Benaoján, a town located in the heart of the region of Serranía de Ronda. It is an amazing landscape full of holm oaks and cork oaks. It is known because of its white houses, inheritance of Mudejar style, placed on the shores of Guadiaro river. We will visit the old town and the railway station.
Next, we will travel to Gaucín, one of the white towns built by the Romans, but where the Arabs left their mark. We will go for a walk in the streets and visit the convents and monasteries of this town, as well as the Roman castle Castillo del Águila, dated from 914, whose name comes from the presence of eagles in the area.
We will eat lunch in Jimena de Líbar, a town covering the nature park Sierra de Grazalema, and then, we will take a journey through Guadiaro river.
