VISIT 17
Alameda – Fuente de Piedra – Antequera
The visit will begin with a breakfast in a typical local restaurant in Alameda, a region located in northern Antequera that was a bandit’s territory in the nineteenth century and a crossroads since ancient times.
Right after, we will visit the most emblematic places of Antequera, such as the monument site Recinto Monumental, the Alcazaba (citadel), the royal collegiate Real Colegiata, the Roman baths and the town’s historic center, where you will be able to taste the typical “porra antequerana” (fritter from Antequera) served with a glass of wine in a local typical restaurant. We will also visit the bull ring, one of the most beautiful and oldest in Andalusia.
Next, we will set a course for Laguna de Fuente Piedra, the largest natural lagoon in Andalusia, where we will eat lunch. We will also be able to enjoy a visit to the town’s interpretation center and a bird watching together with the tour guide. Our last destination will be Fuente de Piedra, where we will take a journey through the town.
