VISIT 2
Vélez-Málaga
The visit begins with a breakfast in Vélez-Málaga, an Islamic city that from the thirteenth century to the fifteenth century was one of the most important places of the Nasrid kingdom. Its old town has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site. We will visit the most symbolic places in the town, such as the Alcazaba (citadel) and its tower Torre del Homenaje, the church Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, the museum Museo de la Semana Santa (Easter Museum), the old neighborhood Barrio de La Villa, the Contemporary Arts Center and the palace Palacio del Marqués de Beniel.
The lunch will take place in Torre del Mar, a town located in the municipality of Vélez-Málaga, whose promenade is designated as the best of Europe. We will visit the marina and fishing port, as well as the hermitage Ermita de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, which currently has 1,150 square meters of fresco painting, a work of Evaristo Guerra.
