VISIT 13 & 14
Archidona – Villanueva de Algaidas
The visit will begin with a breakfast in a typical local restaurant in Cuesta La Palma. We will visit Archidona’s old town, the square Plaza Ochavada, the convent Convento de las Mínimas, where it is possible to buy the traditional local candies, and the building Casa del Pósito, dated from the sixteenth century, whose original purpose was to keep the crops safe.
After that, we will set a course for Villanueva de Algaidas, where we will eat lunch. There, we will visit the ruins of the monastery Convento Franciscano, the rocky hermitages from the nineteenth century, which used to be used as Mozarabic temples, and the interpretation center Centro de Interpretación Miguel Berrocal, whose name derives from a sculptor from Villanueva de Algaidas, and the bridge Puente del Arroyo del Bebedero, dated from the nineteenth century.
