VISIT 32
Cabopino – Ojén – Mijas
We will first visit the marina in Cabopino, located in a high-level urban complex that has 169 berths, as well as a small commercial and leisure area.
Next, we will visit the tower Torre Almenara and the dunes Dunas de Artola, several fossil and moving dunes that form a natural enclave declared Natural Monument.
We will set a course for Ojén, a town located in the biosphere reserve of Sierra de las Nieves, where we will have breakfast and visit the most emblematic places, such as the old town, the anise distillery (the new wine museum) and the museum Museo del Molino de Aceite.
The visit will continue in Mijas coast, where we will be able to enjoy the recently unveiled promenade that runs along the beach, as well as the tower Torre Batería, dated from the sixteenth century.
Our last destination will be Mijas. This town, full of white houses, was first occupied by the Phoenicians in 900 BC and, then, by the Romans in the second century and the Arabs and Berbers in the eighth century, until it was finally conquered by the Catholic Monarchs in 1487. This cultural wealth has left its mark on the old town, which we will visit on this trip along with the viewpoint and the hermitage Ermita de la Virgen de la Peña. The lunch will take place in a typical local typical restaurant in the town of Mijas.
